Then I discovered that my county does not have a fair! Can you believe that?!

So I may try for the state fair next year as I'm too late for this year.

Lisa (Texan)LoneStarhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08484689266902706353noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865121664017247301.post-60922430321757391062009-08-27T07:04:40.501-07:002009-08-27T07:04:40.501-07:00Thanks for all the fair info! One of the gals in charge of the section also works at my lns. So next year we will be starting to pester people to enter in May :o)

And I will try and go stitching at the fair for more than one night...imnvertedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17862448904139398553noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865121664017247301.post-23650758885503071512009-08-26T12:13:08.044-07:002009-08-26T12:13:08.044-07:00Thank you for the information. To be truthful, I ...Thank you for the information. To be truthful, I don't even know if we have a Home Arts area in our county fair ... which is a very commercialized event held at the local community college ... there used to be a 4H sponsored fair, but I haven't heard about that one lately. We are so close to NYC that the emphasis in our county fair seems to be on big name performers, concerts and the promotion of big ticket luxury items [boats, cars, electronics] ... from what I am told. To be fair, I have to admit I have never attended one ... being a city kid [Brooklyn born and bred], I never was interested until I started reading posts about needle art fair entries.
So keep the information flowing ... at least you have inspired me to investigate the possibilities.rionahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07141923797221351378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865121664017247301.post-73795807522893353372009-08-26T10:02:58.322-07:002009-08-26T10:02:58.322-07:00I really like your comments on entering fairs. If we don't display our art forms for people to view they will die out.
I was asked last year after the Yuma fair what I thought they could do to bring more stitchers into the fairs as they seem to be a dying breed!Kathy A.https://www.blogger.com/profile/11666697296593621015noreply@blogger.com
