As to finishing the bookmark,...Sounds like a plan. As to finishing the bookmark, I find that felt is usually too thick, making the bookmark too bulky for the intended use and I don't like the look of fusible interfacing either. As a seamstress, I know interfacing is never meant to be "seen" ... so I tend to think it looks "unfinished as well. If the prefinished bookmark is ivory I use unbleached muslin, if it is white, I use batisse or some other featherweight cotton. I cut out a piece 1/4" wider on all sides than the aida portion of the bookmark, then press in a 1/4" hem all the way around and blind stitch it to the back of the book mark. You can straight stitch it as well, just be careful to match your floss to the bookmark aida as closely as possible so as not to distract the eye from the design.rionahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07141923797221351378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1865121664017247301.post-54228167340097726292010-06-25T12:26:57.047-07:002010-06-25T12:26:57.047-07:00Hope you have a great stitch week-end Rachel.
